The 2nd International Conference for Students and Young Researchers “Medicine of Five Continents: Global Health Problems” took place on December 6-7, 2024. The Conference brought together representatives of the medical community from all over the world, including students, young doctors, researchers, and experts, to discuss critical healthcare issues.
The topic of the Conference covered a wide range of global medical and health problems.
The Conference was primarily aimed at motivating students and young doctors to take an active part in addressing global healthcare challenges, research, and in-person communication.
We strived to establish international cooperation and share experience and ideas that can help find solutions to hard challenges faced by the medical community.
The key topic of the Conference was global medical and health problems.
Speakers included Mark Brincat from Malta, Ass Dean QMUL Campus Malta, Prof Medical Education QMUL London. Professor Raphael Pitti from France, one of the world’s leading experts in tactical and disaster medicine, reported on the role of doctors in the face of war. Andrew Gennery, one of the world’s leading Specialists in Immunology and Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Professor of Child Health, and Professor/Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Immunology, spoke on neonatal screening for severe combined immunodeficiency and bone marrow transplantation in case of congenital immune deficiencies.
Over two days, participants listened to speeches by leading medical experts. It was a great opportunity for young people to gain invaluable experience from those who have already achieved considerable success in their careers.
Presentations by students and young doctors sparked a keen interest and discussions. We express our gratitude to all attendees and partners for their participation!
We are happy and proud to announce that our talented students are the winners at the Medicine of Five Continents International Scientific Conference held on December 6-7 in Malta. This Conference brought together young specialists from all over the world, and we had a unique opportunity to listen to their presentations that impressed us with their relevance and innovation.
We conducted the competition among students, giving everyone a chance to win a travel grant from our University. It is a great opportunity to show your skills and present your research findings, as well as visit wonderful Malta.
According to the competition results, 15 talented students and young researchers won Travel grants: students of Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, International European University, etc.
The travel grant covered travel expenses, accommodation, and partially meals.
🎖 The 1st place: Mariia Tymko (the 1st year of IEU internship)
Topic: Melanoma on the Skin. Phototypes: The Comparative Clinical Study and Dermoscopic Features.
Mariia presented her research findings on melanoma, one of the most aggressive types of skin cancer.
🥈 The 2nd place: Amara-Nwosu Precious Chimeremma (fourth-year IEU student)
Topic: HIV Infection: Global Challenges and Regional Particularities.
She focused on complex issues related to HIV infection and various aspects of combating the epidemic in different regions worldwide.
🥉 The 3rd place: Majd Awadalah Sbetan (fifth-year IEU student)
Topic: Antibiotic Resistance: The Growing Global Health Threat.
Majd raised one of the most pressing issues of our time – antibiotic resistance.

Due to the anniversary of International European University and the Science Day in Ukraine, International European University hosted the 2nd International Scientific Conference: Sustainable Development Trajectories of Ukraine and the World: Challenges and Drivers in partnership with foreign and national universities, research institutions and professional organizations.
The Science Day and the University’s anniversary brought together 80 participants, including scientists, postgraduates and students, from 20 European universities, scientific institutions and professional organizations of Ukraine, Italy, Slovakia, Moldova, Spain, Romania and Greece.
The event focused on a wide range of sustainable development issues in Ukraine and the world, highlighting the key trajectories for their solutions, namely: environmentally sustainable economic activity, preservation of biodiversity for future generations, green finance, global digitalization, artificial intelligence, prospects for sustainable community development and psychological aspects of a sustainable lifestyle in the context of the devastating war in Ukraine, the EU Green Deal and Green Recovery for Ukraine.
